We are seeking a Research Fellow with experience in organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, or bioorganic chemistry to work on an industry-funded project. The project aims to prepare potent antibacterial lead compounds that are delivered specifically into the bacterial cytoplasm. The project requires synthesis and scale-up of target molecules within the project period for preclinical studies afterwards. A proven ability of organic synthesis is a key to this project, and willingness, aptitude and experiences in performing synthesis in a product-oriented project will be beneficial. Excellent communication skills are required as the project shall involve international collaboration.
Candidates must hold a PhD* in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology or a related discipline, and have a strong background in multistep synthesis.

*Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
