Enterprise Fellow - CORNERSTONE PDK Engineer

The CORNERSTONE team provide a Silicon Photonics fabrication service to researchers from across the globe, centred around unique cleanroom capabilities in Southampton (www.cornerstone.sotonfab.co.uk). You will become a CORNERSTONE Process Design Kit (PDK) Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and developing a library of Silicon Photonics components for a variety of platforms that our users can freely access via an open source component library. This will be focused on improvement and enhancement of CORNERSTONE’s PDKs.
You will simulate, design and characterise Silicon Photonics devices to enrich CORNERSTONE component libraries and will also work closely with our software partners and our users to provide feedback on the validity of submitted design files. You will be able to learn from some of the best researchers in the field and will gain valuable, transferable skills within the field of photonics device design and characterisation. You will be provided with full training.
Experience in Silicon Photonics device design, mask layout and device characterisation is essential, as is a PhD in photonics or a related area.
The contract will be fixed term with a possible extension.
