Research Fellow
Programmer (python/C) in the Collaborative Computing Project 4 Macromolecular Crystallography.
We look for a programmer in the field of macromolecular crystallographic computing. We seek to develop, implement, and apply methodology for identification and examination of multiple structural states and conformations for this, and will employ the Bayesian decomposition we have developed. Any development is to be implemented within the programs servalcat/refmac for the CCP4 computing programming suite and released publicly.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in crystallographic theory and able to code. The post will be based at Southampton with regular research visits to the LMB Cambridge and to the Research Complex at Harwell for interaction with the CCP4 core team. The project has a focus on time resolved work and cooperates with the UK XFEL hub at the Diamond Light Source. This contract is initially 15 month, but may be extended.
Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
