The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southampton invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in radio astronomy, to work on LOFAR and X-ray studies of AGN feedback in galaxy groups and clusters. You will work with Dr Judith Croston on new LOFAR observations of radio-loud AGN within the LOFAR Extragalactic Surveys Key Science Project, combining these with the results of new and archival X-ray studies.

You will have a PhD in astrophysics, with experience in radio interferometric data analysis, ideally at low frequencies. Previous experience in the area of radio-loud AGN physics and feedback and/or galaxy cluster physics, and/or some familiarity with X-ray astronomy data, would also be advantageous.

This position is funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) for 2 years, and available from October 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.
