Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to undertake legal research work for a fixed term of 2 years commencing January 2018 on a Horizon 2020 funded research project on accelerating innovation services (Datapitch). The focus of the post will be to provide consultative legal and ethical advice and analysis to the interdisciplinary team in order to inform the development of the project objectives. The successful applicant will be based at University of Southampton collaborating with other project partners based in several Member States (e.g. Portugal, France). Applicants must therefore want to work as part of a collaborative research team and be keen and able to travel.

Applicants should have a strong background in related research and either hold a PhD in the relevant field or a professional legal qualification. Independent research planning, research methods, organisation, communication and writing skills are essential. The successful candidate will also be someone who can hit the ground running and work with a degree of independence and initiative in identifying, formulating, articulating and presenting the relevant legal input during the initial stages of the project.

This role is expected to start January 2018 and run to 31 December 2019.

The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
