Career Pathways

All University staff are aligned to one of four Career Pathways, which are designed to help staff map out their career trajectory during their time at the University and help them to plan their development and work activities to enable them to maximise their full potential.The pathways define the contributions expected of staff at each level.

The four Career Pathways are:

  • Education Research and Enterprise (ERE);
  • Technical and Experimental (TAE);
  • Management, Specialist and Administrative (MSA); and
  • Community and Operational (CAO)

Roles on the Technical and Experimental Pathway provide technical and/or scientific support to research, education and enterprise functions.

Roles on the Management, Specialist and Administrative Pathway are engaged in the provision of professional and administrative support services to University staff and students and sometimes to the wider public.

Roles on the Community and Operational Pathway are concerned with operating and running the facilities of the University
